The purpose of the course is to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable him/her understand and effectively carry out the operations of home care management in private households, children homes, hospital, hostels and boarding institutions both locally and abroad.
NITA in conjunction with hillside college issues the certificates with result slips for modules passed and awards a proficiency Certificate In Home Care Management.
The curriculum was launched in 2018 by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in collaboration with IOM, the UN Migration Agency and various stakeholders.
The aim of the curriculum is to equip Kenyan migrant workers, youth and workers in the domestic sector with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to enable them provide effective management of the home and resources, childcare and home nursing both locally and abroad.
